It is easy to deal with metals when there is no choice. But what happens when there are too many choices?

Without saying, it is important to get bacteria potential with different metals one on one. But Bio Bureau team is aware that things in the real world are much more complicated than secure environment of the laboratory bench.

Based on information we harvested all around us, we prepared synthetic mixture of metals usually present in mining industry. Even more important, we tried to imitate their ratio. And we got results. As for every step of preparation for new technology, a lot of obstacles are in front of us, but the first data show there is point to try to pass them.

The high Ni concentration and acid surrounding killed bacteria, but still biomass picked metal ions. And it is worth of mentioning that biomass was not “fulled” by the high concentration of Nickel ions (g/L) and picked only them, but dealt with other metal ions (mg/L) as well.

On our to-do list is to optimize certain parameters, such as pH range, concentration of bacteria, time of bacteria/solution contact.
